Programmes designed to help founders launch a venture in one of the new disruptive technologies by exposing them to the technology, the business opportunities, experts in the field and case studies.

AI and Machine learning - getting started

AI and Machine learning - getting started

AI introductionArtificial intelligence, and more narrowly, machine learning are really hot topics as our technological capability gives ever-greater power to the ability of machines to "think". Just as now, you do not need to be able to code to develop a fairly sophisticated website, AI tools are increasingly becoming available to those who do not have deep mathematical expertise in the underlying science, but are able to recognise the business and social opportunities arising from this phenomenon.

This course, which will run in the latter part of Q3 2018, has been designed to help you assess opportunities and begin creating ventures that could put you on the leading edge of these new technologies.

The programme begins with an overview of the underlying technologies (from a business perspective) and considers some of the sectors that might be impacted upon by harnessing the power of these advances in thinking.

A series of videos/webinars from experts in the field (entrepreneurs, researchers, academics and corporate players) will discuss the potential scope and challenges surrounding implementation of the technology; as well as the probable skills you may need to build into your team to get started.

A number of cases of successful and not-so-successful projects will be presented and some of the learnings from these ventures will be tabled.

Throughout the course, an online discussion forum will be available for Q&A, floating of ideas, searching for potential partners / co-founders - and any conversation that members of the programme wish to initiate with fellow attendees, professors and mentees.

Blockchain - getting started

Blockchain - getting started

Blockchain imageBlockchain could possibly be a technology that is as important as the internet itself in terms of the scope, breadth and depth of its ability to disrupt industries.

This programme, which will run the latter part of Q3 2018, has been designed to help potential founders to discover more about how to launch a venture in this space.

The programme begins with an overview of the technology (from a business perspective) and suggests a few of the sub-sectors in which there will be opportunities such as crypto-currencies, smart contracts and certification.
